Saturday Bliss

Due to a last minute schedule change, we had a day with no plans! Yippee!!! Originally, we were supposed to trek to San Jose to take part in a photo shoot for Autism Speaks. We were one of the families selected to represent the Bay Area as a face of Autism for the Light it Up Blue awareness campaign. The shoot was rescheduled for a couple of weeks from now.

So, we had a lazy morning and banana pancakes for breakfast. We relaxed In the backyard and soaked up the 70 degree weather the Bay Area was blessed with today! Sara was so happy playing in the sand box, while mommy and daddy relaxed. She discovered the patch of weeds in garden and was in heaven!










We just need to figure out how to get her to pull the weeds at the root!

She was a happy girl today. We were so proud of her at dinner. When we asked her if she wanted chocolate milk or yogurt for her treat, she responded "I want yogurt". This was the first time she resounded to a question in a 3 word sentence! She is doing great and we couldn't be prouder! Then at bedtime she told me " goodnight, mommy!". Love her!

She has her first ABA therapy session tomorrow. Rachel, her therapist, is going to be a good match. They seemed to hit it off on Friday when she came by the house. They will be working really hard, but I know it will be great for Sara.

Days like this remind me that all the hard work and hard days are worth it. Sara has grown and shown so much progress. We are thankful for her amazing teachers and therapists. Sara is so lucky to have them on her team.
