Brentwood Corn on the Cob....1st of the Season...


I cut the corn off the cob and Sara couldn't cram the kernels in her mouth fast enough....she love it! I also gave her the cob to gnaw on....she was pretty proud of herself!

Letters to Sara: 11 months

Dear Sara Grace,

You are growing so quickly and changing so much every day. I can't even put into words how incredible it is to watch you become a little person. Each new skill you learn and perfect fills me with such joy. I am so proud of my big, strong girl! Here's what you are up to at 11 months:

Swim lessons: You love the water! You kick your little legs and you splash with all your might. You also love putting your face down in the water.

You are determined to move: You love to stand, spin, roll, rock, and squirm! You are starting to get a little miffed if we try to sit you down. You love to stand and play with your Laugh and Learn table. You try to roll off the changing table, squirm out of our arms, and roll every chance you get. You still aren't crawling. But you love rocking on all fours, you scoot where ever you need to go, and you spin on a dime!

Food: You love to eat. You are turning into a toddler and have started eating breakfast with the "big kids" at school. Ms. Aruna gave your daddy and I props for all the yummy food we send with you to school. She said that you have all the other kids jealous with your colorful variety of vegetables and fruits in your breakfasts and lunches. There isn't much you haven't liked. You are drinking out of a sippy cup now. But, bottles are still mommy's favorite part of the day. I'm so sad at the thought of having to give that time up. However, I know it's best for you and we'll just have to find other special routines.

Teeth and Hair: You have 5 teeth now....3 on the bottom and 2 on the top. You are a trooper when you teethe, but we have notice that you spit up a lot and you get a running nose. Daddy calls you "his little hairy head". You still don't have much hair, but it is starting to fill in slowly.

You Wave! You have waved for a while now. But, you waved bye to me for the first time at daycare a couple weeks ago. Oh.....Be still my heart....

You love to laugh: You are full of joy. You laugh and smile and get excited over the littlest of things. When I dropped you off at school the other morning, you got so excited when you saw Ms. Aruna. She said "Good Morning, Sara" and you squealed with delighted and buried your face into my shoulder. I know that you are in good hands and I know that you have developed a special bond with Ms. Aruna.

Oh Sara, when I think of all the blessings that God has poured down on your daddy and I this year, I am overwhelmed. But none compares to the blessing of being your mommy and watching you grow each and every day. I love you more than I could ever express...I look at you and I see this amazing gift that God created in me and for me. All I can do is desperately ask for Him to give me the wisdom I need to raise you for Him. To teach you to love and trust Him, to be a servant to others and to glorify Him with your life; all things I'm still struggling to accomplish myself. But, I promise that I won't let you down, Sar-Bear!
