Fun with Food

Sara has started solids this week. So far, so good! We started with sweet potatoes and brown rice cereal. She loved the sweet potatoes! She even likes the brown rice cereal. It took her a bit to get the hang of it....but, she's gobbling everything right down.

This morning, we tried avocado and she seemed to like that too. I've been making her food with produce from our farm box. We have sweet potatoes and butternut squash in the freezer. I'm making green beans today and we'll try those next week, along with bananas. Fun, fun, fun!

Stinson Beach

Beautiful!

We wanted to get out of town this past weekend and enjoy the sunshine. We decided to head to the coast and check out Muir Woods. I read that they had great trails that were stroller friendly. Brian and I had been there before, but it had been years. So, we packed a picnic and headed to the coast. Apparently, everyone else had the same idea. The parking lots were packed and no parking was to be had and we weren't going to circle the parking lot....not my idea of enjoying nature!

So, we decide to head for Stinson Beach. Front row parking spot and a great walk on the 2.5 miles of beach. We soaked up the sun and enjoyed walking the beach. We decided to take Hwy 1 north to Point Reyes. What a beautiful drive. Point Reyes Station was as cute as could be. We can't wait to get a picnic lunch at the Cowgirl Creamy and some yummy treats at the Bovine Bakery. We are so lucky to live such a short distance from such beauty!

Letters to Sara: 6 months

Dear Sara Sunshine--

Wow, Little Mama! You're 6 months old today! Where has the time gone? It really is true....time does pass so fast with a little one in the house. At times, it feels like you have always been a part of our lives and at other times, I can't believe 6 shorts months have passed so quickly.

I love watching you grow! You are at such an exciting age. Yes, I've had a few sad moments thinking you are growing too fast. For example, earlier this month when we put away your swing and your 6 month clothes all in one day! But, I'm more excited to watch you at each new stage and I can't wait to see what's in store next.

Yesterday, we took a family trip to the beach. Your daddy and I loved watching all the kiddos run around. There was the cutest little girl with brown curly hair there. She was around 2 years old and having so much fun in the sand and letting the waves tickle her toes. We watched her for a while and I got teary thinking that's going to be you in just a bit longer. I'm so excited to watch you grow and develop into a little girl, Sara. I'm only wish is that you have a love and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds you.

You have been discovering so much this last month! Your laughter and smiles have started coming more easily. You have discovered your feet and any time you are on your back, you instantly draw your foot up for closer inspection. Your daddy says that you like to "fold like a taco". You have even like to suck on your toes! You love playing with your rattles and teethers. You shake them as hard as you can and have gotten mad a couple of times when they hit you in the face. You play with blocks and really love your bath time. You could splash and kick for hours with your bath toys.

You love people and going new places. You did great on your first plane trip and had a ball watching all the people around you. Your teachers at day care have commented on how much you enjoy watching all the happenings and want to be close to all of your friends. I love that you are turning into such a social butterfly!

Happy 6-month birthday, little mama! I can't wait to see what the next 6 months bring.

Fun with Feet

During the last several weeks, Sara has really become smitten with her feet. She discovered them and has been trying to figure out how to stuff them in her mouth ever since!

Alabama Trip

We made it back from Alabama! Sara is a great traveler and tagged along just about everywhere with us. Here's a few of the high-lights:

Sara's first plane trip:

Sara was a perfect angel on her plane trip. She didn't make a peep and everyone around us commented on how well she did.

We loved it and can't wait to go back in warmer weather. They have good meats, great sides, and a fantastic outside area to listen to live music.
