Christmas Celebrations!

Santa came to our house to visit this year!  Sara slept in until past 9am, so I had to impatiently wait for her to wake up.  I was so excited for Christmas morning....more so than Sara.

Christmas Eve Happenings

We had a very low key few days leading up to Christmas Eve. 

  Sara had a nasty virus the week before and was wheezing, so we were doing breathing treatments....thankfully we were able to return the breathing machine on Christmas Day!

 

 

We made a Happy Birthday, Jesus cake on Sunday for dessert on Christmas Eve.  Sara loves stirring and pouring!  She had even more fun "helping" frost the cake!

I had to work Christmas Eve, so we decided just to stay home and not drive anywhere.  We relaxed on the sofa with hot apple cider for Sara and adult beverages for mommy and daddy!

 

 Sara loved drinking out of her special mug.  We had chili for dinner and then opened presents!  This was really the first year that Sara really enjoyed her presents.  She kept saying "presents...presents".  She was excited!

 Sidetracked by the box....she played with the paper and boxes and had to be pulled away to open her other gifts.  We do 3 gifts on Christmas Eve....Something to wear, Something Wanted, and Something Needed.  This year, her "wanted" was the Little People Zoo.  She needed jeans and got several new dresses to wear.

Such an emotional Christmas....so much bad going on in the world....but so much good too!

Family Photo Time

We had our pictures taken a couple weekends ago.  I bought a groupon deal from a local photographer over the summer.  He is from Martinez and was super laid back and easy to work with.  He was born and raised in Martinez.  In fact, his dad was the editor of the Martinez Gazette for many years.  We enjoyed hearing his stories about downtown Martinez. 

We prayed for no rain and got our wish.  It rained all night long, but cleared up in the morning.  The ground was still pretty wet, so our plans changed slightly.  We wanted to go down to the Marina to get some pictures of the hills and the water.....maybe next time!  We stayed close to downtown and the train station.
