Weekend Photo Dump....

What beautiful weather this weekend! The AC hasn't been on all weekend. It made for perfect opportunities to get out and about....and that we did. Brian worked on Saturday, so Sara and I ran lots of errands....Trader Joes, Costco, Target, Kohls, and the library. Sara is loving books lately.

Sunday we chilled out and did a bunch of nothing. Sara is enjoying her Dino more. She has mastered pushing it backwards....we're still working on forward motion! She made the funniest face when I asked her "how did you get way over there?".

Sara hit the bottle early....hey...at least we're starting her off right with a bottle of Elk Cove Roosevelt Pinot
Sara helped me in the kitchen and left a path of destruction!

After lunch, we decided to hit up new Rankin Aquatic Center....it was great!

At one point, we had the slide area to ourselves.

They have break time and the area is only open for kids 6 and under. So nice!

The zero entry pool allows for great water playtime for the little ones.

Sara's 1 year photo shoot

We had Jenny, our photographer who did our maternity and newborn shoots, take Sara's 1 year pictures. I'm so happy we did....we love the pictures. They are worth every penny and then some. I know that we will cherish these pictures forever.

I love that Jenny remembered the red head sash Sara wore as a newborn.


And, I love, love, love the fact that there are some similiarities in poses. I was comparing and I'm in awe at how much she has changed in one short year.

Wagon Ride...

The weather in the Bay Area is perfect....so comfortable....unusual for August....but I'll take it. Brian is getting home late, so I decided to take Belle and Sara for a walk. We took the wagon on it's maiden voyage. It was Sara's birthday present from us, and she did quite well. I have a feeling this is the beginning of many more wagon rides to come!

Backyard Projects

We have started tackling the backyard. After concentrating on the inside and getting big things like new windows, air conditioning, baseboard, and interior doors, the time has come to start focusing on the outside. It's a huge project, but we have broken it down into 4 parts. We have started part 1 of our 4 part project:
1: Replace retaining Wall and landscape planter area in Backyard
2. Grass in the backyard
3. Front yard
4. Hill in the backyard

So far, Brian has:

Removed the posts

Removed the planks

the posts were rotten and broken off

Chipping out the wood and dirt to make room for new pipe posts

Lego Fun...

We went to Chace's 3rd birthday party at Bricks for Kids. Sara had fun playing with the Legos at a table that was just her size. The older kids had a blast building and playing with all kinds of Legos! What a great idea!
