Front yard

I can't believe our front yard is almost complete!!!! It's been a long, laborious process, but I love the results! Now, we just need the ground cover to grow in. All in low maintenance and drought tolerant....bonus that we will have no dead lawn this summer....because you know water rationing is in CA's future!

We have one last project that we are getting quotes for...pouring a concrete pad for RV access along the side. It will finish everything off nicely...but ouch....it's a lot of money to spend right now. So, we will be clearing out the extra dirt so it's not such an eye sore and save up a bit more money.













Walk down memory lane with me....this was 7 years ago...can you believe it!?!?! Hard to believe it will have been 7 years since we bought this house at the end of April!

Food Truck Mafia

It was beautiful here today! A warm, sunny 80 degrees. Starting this weekend, the food truck mafia is at the marina every Saturday. So, we decided to go check it out.

We got lunch off the truck and had a picnic...









Sara took off after a biker. The little girl had a doll in the back and Sara really wanted to play with it.


We reeled her back in and cooled off with some frozen custard....creamy and delish! Brian got chocolate....Sara got fresh strawberry....I had some of each of theirs....so good....I really hope Lexie is there next weekend!

Monterey Bay Aquarium

We did a quick get away to Monterey this week.  The weather was gorgeous and we had a great time.  We drove down Saturday afternoon.  It's such an easy drive...I'm not sure why we don't head down that way more.

We soaked up some sunshine at the beach.  Sara had fun in the sand.

We had a great dinner at Hula's Grill.  We read about it in our Via magazine and decided to give it a try.  They had really yummy Dark and Stormies there!  The hotel had an indoor pool so we spent the evening swimming.  Sara was so excited.

The next day was all about the aquarium...it is really a special place in a beautiful setting.  It should be on everyone's travel bucket list.

Sara loved chasing the pigeons on the deck.  She was cracking everyone up.  This pigeon would let Sara get so close and the fly away.  Sara kept saying "Hi Birdie". 

 Sara did pretty good at the aquarium.  She was definitely over stimulated when we got there, but settled down pretty quickly.  She wasn't that impressed with the fish, but did seem to like the jelly fish.  She loved the play areas and the outside spaces.

We drove thru Pacific Grove on our way out of town and hit the road back home.
