Letters to Sara: 9 months

Dear Sara Smiles--

9 months old....wow....just wow!

This month, you:

-- have started babbling up a storm and are saying "dada" "kaka", "mama", "baba", and "gaga" pretty clearly.

-- are a total busy body....all the time. You love pulling hair, squirming, rolling, spinning your head around to follow sounds, pulling my glasses of my face. Your teachers at school said they have to watch you like a hawk because you love pulling and grabbing your friends.

-- are starting to protest when something gets taken away from you or you want more of something. You gave daddy the what-for last weekend when he stopped blowing bubbles! You keep speaking your mind....I love it!

-- still only have 2 teeth....but you love playing with them! You run your finger across them and break out in the biggest grin.

-- still have no desire to move. We call you the "little swimmer" because you love to push up with your arms and wildly kick your feet. You are starting to get your legs underneath you more, but you still can't quite figure out how to make the arms and legs work together.

-- can spin yourself and roll yourself where you need to go!

-- have totally figured out how to feed yourself with finger foods! You pick up the smallest pieces of food with ease. You love cheerios, cheese, pancakes, chicken, toast, blueberries, tofu, pinto beans, black beans, broccoli, and avocado.

-- are a pro at drinking out of your sippy cup.

-- love macaroni and cheese, risotto, and pasta. We are finishing up the freezer stash of purees and then you are onto table food.

-- laugh and giggle all the time....you are such a happy girl. I think you are going to be a little daredevil....you love anything on the wild side....rocking over daddy's head, airplanes on mommy's legs, swinging upside down, dive bombing to the ground. You are so much fun!

-- love being outside. I'm cherishing the longer days....we go outside after I get home from work and lay on a blanket under the tree. You love watching the leaves and I love staring at you watching the leaves.
